As I mentioned in a previous post, I have signed up for an online business mentorship program. I have my own personal mentor/coach and we have a weekly telephone chat to discuss new concepts and to give me my assignments for the rest of the week.

Yes, you read right. I get homework! Good thing the homework is so interesting, else I might have struggled.

So I have had two sessions already with my mentor. Oh, her name is Kathryn, and she live in the U.S. of A. So, what might I have learned in only two weeks, you ask? Well, quite a lot actually.

I have learned to identify things to do online that I really enjoy. At least to start of with. This means that I do something that I like and interest me. This in turn keeps me motivated.

I have learned to do proper keyword research to see which of my interest have real online business potential. In online marketing geek speak, I have been learned how to identify my niche. Previously, I did the keyword research, but I didn’t know how to put all the numbers together to get a good idea of potential. Now I do.

I have learned to identify a wide range of key phrases to use in conjunction with my niche. All of these phrases will eventually turn into a web page.

Now, the next part of the slog. Learning how to turn those key words into useful content. This I see as being my biggest challenge. I never quite know where to start.

If things procede at this pace, I should have my first online business website up and running in a few weeks time, hopefully starting to generate an income. (Oh, by the way, it will be a .com - I’m going for dollars)

For now, there is still a lot of hard work to be done, but I’ve never really minded hard work. I know that if I put the hard work in now, I will have to do less and less work in the future for more and more reward.
